Isabel Su Qi is a visual artist and innovator, drawn to the (slower) rhythms of life:

the hum of events,
the stillness between moments,
the quiet geometry of light.

the lens often dances with me,
capturing expressions that move and breathe,
heave and writhe with emotion.
gestures of care,
threads of community,
the warmth of connection.

Inspired by conceptual fine artists, Su Qi also creates conceptual work with photographs, often from her archives. For her BA Photography dissertation (graduated with a First Class Hons degree), she investigated the role of photography in forming memory. (The act of) recording through the lens affects the psychological process of memory, and our experience of the original moment.

Quiet unspoken actions of creativity through DIY skin products, fermenting big pots of kimchi, mending clothes with darning, fixing backpacks with onion plastic nets, art journalling connecting to the inner child, an 'I was today years old when' diary.
